They say the middle class is a thing of the past, but America used to thrive on it. For those of you who don't know, the middle class smells like freshly cut grass, above-ground pools, and local soccer leagues on Saturdays. The middle class is riddled with jalapeño poppers and Arnold Palmers and dad's who say, "We needed this", whenever it rains. Us middle-classers have 10 year old cars and Costco memberships and we work 40 hour weeks. And when we're feeling fancy, we hop on a cruise liner with the kids and the dog and head to Barbados for the week, reliving our younger years with an open bar and an all-you-can-eat buffet.

Maybe some of us will get the chance to crawl up the totem pole of the capitalist tax brackets, but most of us are happy and comfortable here, lounging in Laz-E boy chairs with 7-layer dip and the game on.
